Thinking of Scott and his incredible voice. It was such a pleasure to have sung with him so many years ago. Scott, you continue to be missed.

Like so many of us, tomorrow is such a sad reminder of all that we have lost. I can't express how thankful we are for all the memories and love that people on this site have shared in memory of Scott. Reading all these posts brings tears to my eyes and joy to my heart.

I truly think about Scott on a daily basis. Not a day has passed that Scott and my Bart family are not on my mind. Though every year as September approaches, the feelings get stronger and stronger. However, the beauty and love within our family can provide some relief to the intense feelings. We have so many lovely and beautiful children in our family enjoying life and creating new and wonderful moments for all of us. While we feel extreme sadness, I believe that Scott is smiling through it all and enjoying every last giggle of his nieces and nephews. This belief gives me lasting hope and I will never let go of this idea.

I love and miss you cousin as I always will, the years don't change anything at all.

Today would have been a joyous day for Scott. For today, would have marked his 15th Wedding Anniversary. I can still remember that joyous occasion located at the cottage of the Milleridge Inn in Jericho. Even on Scott's wedding day, he was able to do things that made the day exciting. Like for forgetting to bring the balance of money owed to the band that day. The band members told Scott that they would play for only one hour and then leave if they didn't receive the balance of their money. Fortunately, good old Dad came to his rescue, and the day was saved. It's stories like this, that still make me think and chuckle.

I think of Scott often. Several times a week and lately almost everyday. There are so many reminders of him throughout the day. Mostly the reminders are musical. Countless songs remind me of him - "Try A Little Tenderness", the songs from Jekyll and Hyde, the opening of Lion King, the music from the musical Beauty and the Beast (that he took me to see), "Suppertime" from You're a Good Man Charlie Brown (of course!), the music from "Blood Brothers", tons of Queen songs, the Simpsons theme song, "Silent Lucidity" and just about every Billy Joel song. He loved music so much. It lit him up! I have so many good memories of Scott and there is a soundtrack to just about all of them.

I learned so much from him in the moment and am learning from him still. The things he valued - people, friendship, family, going above and beyond, integrity, excitement for life and work, striving towards greater things, doing your best, doing what was necessary, loyalty, making people laugh, having fun, helping others. Looking back I can see now that he had is heart and head in the right place. Far more so than I understood at the time. I realize now that the values and principles he operated from were unique in lots of ways. I didn't know at the time just how unique. You don't meet someone like Scott often. He genuinely cared about people.

He used to say he loved to see me smile. At the time I thought it was corny, like a line from a movie. It wasn't till later that I got that he meant it and that he was the kind of person who meant what he said.

I just want to take a moment and thank anyone and everyone who has ever visited and posted a comment about Scott. It is nice to come to his page and still see different friends and family sharing their feelings, thoughts and memories as the years move on. On such occasions as today his birthday, it is nice to reflect and read the post of others to keep his memory alive. So again thank you to all who have written a post and to those who will.

I wanted to thank the Bart's personally for the purchase of a seat in the new Waterman Theatre in honor of their son, Scott. I was his choir director in the department and knew him quite well. He has been in my heart and mind since his tragic death. I am so pleased that he will always have a seat in a space that meant so much to him. You should know that a number of his fellow singers are pitching in to buy a second seat in his memory. He was well loved. Thank you again. I wish you peace.
